Woodstock Generation, Recalled The Unforgettable Tale For YouPosté 7:22 AM le 2/25/2010
Nick is for kids" ~ Nickelodeon TV channel Baby Boomers won't let go of the Woodstock Festival. Why should they?Woodstock can be seen as one of the grand events that well defined the late 1960s; moreover, it had a happy ending. On the mornings of Aug 15th to Aug 18th, 1969, thousands upon thousandsof people gathered at that lovely farm in New York suburb. While listening to the moving songs sang by the era's greatest rock stars, they enjoyed the fun legally or illegally. And feeling the unity and lax of a giant group in the rains and muds, exhaustively and painfully in hungry. One year after the violence and riot in Chicago in 1968, all the youths rallied in large, which was considered to be impossible. So the hosting of Woodstock was no small accident. Although the festival didn't go exactly as planned, it was, as advertised, three days of peace and music. However, Woodstock turned to be a pleasant rally, especially when lots of people recalled it. Surprisingly, New York City described it as a "disaster". With time passing by, Woodstock sounds more like a lucky success: a success rife with mud, mess and incredible elegance. Young people who participate in Woodstock were university students, artists, workers and politicans. Of course, there were fledgling hippies, and they brought their ecstasy lifestyle to the scene. That was the only Woodstock's still shining bright light. It was limitative but filled with laughter. It was also out of place at that time when there was Vietnam War, racial conflict and frequently mentioned generation gap. The freedom of Woodstock has double meanings: one is that you can get in and out freely, for it is free. Meanwhile, it also contains the meaning of freedom and liberation (including drug-abuse and getting out of the shackles of clothing). Some cynics may think: the so-called "peace and music" is more or less another illustration that those spoiled baby boom generation can do everything as they wish. Those participants of Woodstock brought more drugs than food with them to this free concert. You may like these site: Nintendo DS Lite on Sale, cheap Flash Cards For NDS Lite -- ds r4. |
