Warrior armor is much better at protecting the Warrior than most other armors

Posté 3:31 AM le 10/11/2008

Warrior armor is much better at protecting the Warrior than most other armors. Mesmers Mesmers are described by Guildwiki as experts in indirect damage and subtle magic The Mesmer profession excels in the disruption and shutdown of foes, rendering them ineffective and useless. It’s armor level is higher than every other profession’s except for Rangers who have equivalent armor. Good local knowledge is vital when playing Mesmer, in knowing what to expect and how foes react, and using their skills to good effect is where a Mesmer truly shines on the battlefield. But Warrior armor is better for the melee situations a Warrior is looking to find because it offers protection against physical damage rather than the elemental damage a Ranger offers. Mesmers are often considered to be weak in PvE. Physical damage is the type of damage done by weapons and weapons are what tend to get used in close combat. While it is the case that they are weaker than other classes, I feel that due to PvE skills, the gap is closing between the Mesmer class, and all the others. Their high average armor level also offers them decent protection against all other sources of damage, too. In PvP the Mesmer shines however. Unfortunately, in return for that level of protection Warrior armor lacks the bonus energy and regeneration that all other professions have. Due to Humans behaving like. A primary Warrior, then, has the lowest energy pool of anyone because they remain at the base 20 energy and 2 arrows of regeneration. They can use foci and staves to increase their energy but it’s really the regeneration that hampers them because once spent their energy returns more slowly than anyone else. This makes them poor spellcasters as they cannot use the highly costly spells of other professions very often. Humans. However, Warriors, at the same time that they are the profession with the least energy, are the profession with the least concern for using energy. Many Warrior skills use a type of recharging found nowhere else but on the Warrior skill list, adrenaline. buy wow gold Adrenal skills recharge based on a number of hits either received or dealt in combat and once that amount of adrenaline has been built up cost no energy to activate. it is far easier for a Mesmer to cause pressure and irritation to their enemy, whereas Monsters will not react in the same way, and will not ""panic"" when faced with degen pressure, or shutdown hexes. By using adrenal skills a Warrior sidesteps their lack of energy and can afford to use energy skills they wouldn’t be able to otherwise. 2. That difference in a Warrior’s armor, the high protection but lower energy, is one of the major reason to choose Warrior as either a primary or secondary profession. cheap wow gold Attributes Let's take a look at a Mesmer's attribute lines: Fast Casting - This is the Mesmer's Primary Attribute. Armor is a part of the equipment that Warriors rely on and taking another profession as a primary means a better ability to use skills but less protection.Because they cannot use skills as well, especially skills from other professions, Warriors do not rely on their skills as much as other professions. Fast Casting's passive ability allows you to cast spells and signets faster. Of all the professions Warriors are also the most dependant on their gear. Fast Casting has a very limited selection of skills itself, and due to this, it's not uncommon for Mesmers to keep a token amount of attribute points in Fast Casting when not utilising any of the skills. Warrior attributes are used to get better with melee weapons but you can also get a better melee weapon by finding a weapon with better damage or better modifiers. mp3 A couple of the better skills include Mantra of Recovery Core Mantra of Recovery205Elite Stance. Warrior attack skills add damage to their weapon’s damage so every point more of damage from their weapon makes them that much better. For 5. And neglecting to craft their armor means that primary Warriors are giving up one of the main advantages of playing a primary Warrior. Warriors also benefit greatly from high attributes and some of the better runes, such as those that raise health or lower damage, so upgrading their armor is just as important. wow gold 17. Warriors are the dreadnaughts, the heavily plated and well-armor engines of destruction, on the battlefield. Their main strength and chief weakness is their lack of range. 21 seconds, Spells you cast recharge 33% faster. An enemy can relegate them to the sidelines by managing to keep away from that close range a Warrior is so deadly at. wow gold (Attrib: Fast Casting) which allows your skills to recharge faster, and Psychic Instability Factions Psychic Instability1015Elite Hex Spell. Fortunately, a Warrior has several ways of getting to and staying at melee range so they can be effective. For 5. Speed buffs, skills that make a character move faster, let them cover the distance and close with enemies faster. Defensive buffs and high armor let them survive the trip. wow gold 17. And snares, skills that slow or prevent enemy movement, let them keep close. Playing a Warrior might seem simple at first, their reliance on gear means that, while other characters need to hunt down skills and learn to use them, Warriors can be well used with simple plans and simple skills just be virtue of having a decent weapon and decent armor.

Masters of death and sacrifice

Posté 3:27 AM le 10/11/2008

Masters of death and sacrifice, the Necromancer is one of Guild Wars most versatile classes.Because they cannot use skills as well, especially skills from other professions, Warriors do not rely on their skills as much as other professions. Being able to give an offensive boost to allies, hex enemies, leech health off of enemies or raise minions from corpses this class has alot to offer. Of all the professions Warriors are also the most dependant on their gear. They are classified as casters, and as such they adhere to some guidelines that all casters should follow. Warrior attributes are used to get better with melee weapons but you can also get a better melee weapon by finding a weapon with better damage or better modifiers. First and foremost unlike warriors and rangers, equipment is not as important. Warrior attack skills add damage to their weapon’s damage so every point more of damage from their weapon makes them that much better. Even though there are some good necromancer armors your primary concern will be your energy pool. And neglecting to craft their armor means that primary Warriors are giving up one of the main advantages of playing a primary Warrior. Necromancers start with 30 maximum energy and 4 arrows of regeneration(pips). Warriors also benefit greatly from high attributes and some of the better runes, such as those that raise health or lower damage, so upgrading their armor is just as important. While not outright offensive as some of the other classes, Necromancers are one of the best support characters in the game. Warriors are the dreadnaughts, the heavily plated and well-armor engines of destruction, on the battlefield. With a wide array of skills spread along 3 attribute lines, these guys and gals of the unholy can bring alot to any team. Their main strength and chief weakness is their lack of range. Attributes Soul Reaping. An enemy can relegate them to the sidelines by managing to keep away from that close range a Warrior is so deadly at. Only primary Necromancers get access to this little beauty, the answer to your energy problems-Soul Reaping. Fortunately, a Warrior has several ways of getting to and staying at melee range so they can be effective. Unlike every other primary attribute, SR has no linked skills. Speed buffs, skills that make a character move faster, let them cover the distance and close with enemies faster. That doesn't make it a bad attribute though. Defensive buffs and high armor let them survive the trip. What it does is for every death whether that be ally or enemy you gain 1 point of energy per point in this attribute. And snares, skills that slow or prevent enemy movement, let them keep close. So for example, if one of your allies die and you have a 7 in Soul Reaping, you would get 7 energy back. Playing a Warrior might seem simple at first, their reliance on gear means that, while other characters need to hunt down skills and learn to use them, Warriors can be well used with simple plans and simple skills just be virtue of having a decent weapon and decent armor. mp3 players You dont even have to be in the midst of battle to get the benefit from this primary attribute since the range is quite large. But just being able to swing a sword or an axe doesn’t make for a great Warrior or even begin to cover the possibilities offered by this, the most durable of all professions. Blood Magic. Learning to play a Warrior is easy. Blood magic has alot of spells that work on sacrificing health. Mastering one is not. world of warcraft gold It is also the line that shows off one of the Necromancer's best strengths-support. But those that rely on the hardness of their steel and are drawn to learn the harsh lessons of the battlefield do not turn tail at first sign of difficulties. Blood Magic has skills that heal allies of health and energy, the ability to steal health from targets and some defensive skills to boot. If you wish to play a Warrior, if you have the strength of character and nerves to withstand the fires of combat, then take up arms and read on to discover more. Even though some of the skills in this line cause you to lose health, the benefits usually outweigh the risk. Armor At creation a Warrior has armor rated at 15AL +10AL versus physical damage. wow Blood magic combines well with all the other Necromancer attributes perfectly. As they advance they’ll eventually have armor around a rating of 80AL +20AL versus physical damage. Some of the best skills in Blood Magic are: Blood is Power Demonic Flesh Unholy Feast Vampiric Touch Well of Blood Curses. Warriors also have helmets that raise one of any of their attributes available. The other major support line of the Necromancer class. Warrior armor is much better at protecting the Warrior than most other armors. wow gold Loaded with skills that boost damage output, spells that give you health when someone attacks, and even some skills to just give other classes a headache for trying to attack this is an offensive line that doesnt show off high damage numbers but works indirectly. It’s armor level is higher than every other profession’s except for Rangers who have equivalent armor. Your teammates will thank you as this line makes taking out other classes easier. But Warrior armor is better for the melee situations a Warrior is looking to find because it offers protection against physical damage rather than the elemental damage a Ranger offers. Necromancers specialized in curses make great target callers since they are usually the first ones to debuff an enemy team. Physical damage is the type of damage done by weapons and weapons are what tend to get used in close combat. wow gold kaufen Superstar skills of Curse magic include: Barbs Insidious Parasite Lingering Curse Mark of Pain Shadow of Fear Death Magic. Their high average armor level also offers them decent protection against all other sources of damage, too. Instantly recoginable and very popular, this line is where your minions and corpse skills are. Unfortunately, in return for that level of protection Warrior armor lacks the bonus energy and regeneration that all other professions have. Necromancers are known to manipulate the dead and the Death Magic attribute gives you alot of freedom to do so. A primary Warrior, then, has the lowest energy pool of anyone because they remain at the base 20 energy and 2 arrows of regeneration. wow power leveling From teleportation via corpses, making them explode to do damage or raising a personal army of minions this line has some fun toys in it.

what role you want to play

Posté 3:23 AM le 10/11/2008

Th"When building a ranger it’s important to first decide on what role you want to play.Because they cannot use skills as well, especially skills from other professions, Warriors do not rely on their skills as much as other professions. Unlike some other classes, the ranger isn’t as straightforward. Of all the professions Warriors are also the most dependant on their gear. A little forward thinking would serve you well as you level and save you from having to use too many refund points at a later date. Warrior attributes are used to get better with melee weapons but you can also get a better melee weapon by finding a weapon with better damage or better modifiers. The main accepted roles of the ranger are for long-range damage, disruption, beast mastery, or a mix of the three. Warrior attack skills add damage to their weapon’s damage so every point more of damage from their weapon makes them that much better. I would strongly advise considering the type of role you would like to fill upon character creation and choose a secondary profession that compliments that nicely. And neglecting to craft their armor means that primary Warriors are giving up one of the main advantages of playing a primary Warrior. For disruption, a mesmer or necromancer profession would fit well. Warriors also benefit greatly from high attributes and some of the better runes, such as those that raise health or lower damage, so upgrading their armor is just as important. Should you want to focus on damage, an elementalist or warrior would be a better fit. Warriors are the dreadnaughts, the heavily plated and well-armor engines of destruction, on the battlefield. Of course nothing is set in stone, so study all the professions and find what would compliment your play style and be the most fun for you. Their main strength and chief weakness is their lack of range. The easiest role for a ranger to play is the long-range damage dealer. An enemy can relegate them to the sidelines by managing to keep away from that close range a Warrior is so deadly at. This role basically consists of heaping as much damage as possible on your opponent in the shortest amount of time. Fortunately, a Warrior has several ways of getting to and staying at melee range so they can be effective. Make sure that you have the strongest bow that you can find as this will have almost as big of an impact on your damage as your attributes will. Speed buffs, skills that make a character move faster, let them cover the distance and close with enemies faster. To inflict the highest amount of damage, it’s important to find skills that stack together well. Defensive buffs and high armor let them survive the trip. Look for skills that add damage to your attacks, speed your attack rate, etc… and use those skills with other damage modifying attacks. And snares, skills that slow or prevent enemy movement, let them keep close. For example, you could use Read the Wind with Ignite Arrows and Dual Shot. Playing a Warrior might seem simple at first, their reliance on gear means that, while other characters need to hunt down skills and learn to use them, Warriors can be well used with simple plans and simple skills just be virtue of having a decent weapon and decent armor. mp3 players This would serve to speed your attack rate, inflict fire damage on all attacks, and fire two arrows at once. But just being able to swing a sword or an axe doesn’t make for a great Warrior or even begin to cover the possibilities offered by this, the most durable of all professions. The more complicated role is the disruption role. Learning to play a Warrior is easy. First let’s define disruption. Mastering one is not. world of warcraft gold Basically, your main purpose is not to inflict large amounts of damage on your opponent but to cripple them so that their damage or defense is reduced allowing your other teammates the opportunity to both survive longer and kill them off quicker. But those that rely on the hardness of their steel and are drawn to learn the harsh lessons of the battlefield do not turn tail at first sign of difficulties. The ranger, if played well, can excel at disruption. If you wish to play a Warrior, if you have the strength of character and nerves to withstand the fires of combat, then take up arms and read on to discover more. He has the ability to silence casters, lower armor values, slow attack rates, slow movement speed, etc… Some of the key skills for disruption are Pin Down, Concussion Shot, Debilitating Shot, etc… When building a disruption character, search for skills that disable or weaken your opponent and learn to use them at the appropriate time. Armor At creation a Warrior has armor rated at 15AL +10AL versus physical damage. wow Timing can be as important as skill selection with this role. As they advance they’ll eventually have armor around a rating of 80AL +20AL versus physical damage. The final role is Beast Mastery. Warriors also have helmets that raise one of any of their attributes available. Beast Mastery can be a great line to supplement another role but is tougher to use as your primary purpose. Warrior armor is much better at protecting the Warrior than most other armors. wow gold Pets have an annoying little habit of doing whatever the heck they want. It’s armor level is higher than every other profession’s except for Rangers who have equivalent armor. Currently there are no pet commands with which to control your pet, so you just have to hope it does something useful. But Warrior armor is better for the melee situations a Warrior is looking to find because it offers protection against physical damage rather than the elemental damage a Ranger offers. There is a whole set of skills for adding different types of damage or additional health or armor class to your pets but as a whole they’re not the strongest attack, especially in PvP against an intelligent opponent. Physical damage is the type of damage done by weapons and weapons are what tend to get used in close combat. wow gold They do serve well as an added Damage Over Time attack and can run well in a small supporting role, but I wouldn’t currently suggest creating your build around one. Their high average armor level also offers them decent protection against all other sources of damage, too. Pets can be a great help in PvE however. Unfortunately, in return for that level of protection Warrior armor lacks the bonus energy and regeneration that all other professions have. They’re great for using as tanks while you stand out of harms way and launch attack after attack and are a nice addition for solo exploration. A primary Warrior, then, has the lowest energy pool of anyone because they remain at the base 20 energy and 2 arrows of regeneration. wow gold kaufen Of course, it’s not required to focus entirely on anyone of the above builds. They can use foci and staves to increase their energy but it’s really the regeneration that hampers them because once spent their energy returns more slowly than anyone else. Successful players may find that focusing on one or two things may benefit them well.

The main thing is finding a profession that suits your own gaming style

Posté 3:19 AM le 10/11/2008

One of the really good things about Guild Wars is how well balanced the different classes are.Because they cannot use skills as well, especially skills from other professions, Warriors do not rely on their skills as much as other professions. There is no single class or class-combination that is dominant. Of all the professions Warriors are also the most dependant on their gear. The main thing is finding a profession that suits your own gaming style. Warrior attributes are used to get better with melee weapons but you can also get a better melee weapon by finding a weapon with better damage or better modifiers. I've been playing for almost 3 years and have purchased a couple extra character slots just so I can experiment with different classes and combinations. Warrior attack skills add damage to their weapon’s damage so every point more of damage from their weapon makes them that much better. I've found that some classes are definitely easier for me to play than others. And neglecting to craft their armor means that primary Warriors are giving up one of the main advantages of playing a primary Warrior. My personal opinion is that the Assassin is probably the hardest class to play effectively, but when a player actually learns to play it well, then the class becomes very potent. Warriors also benefit greatly from high attributes and some of the better runes, such as those that raise health or lower damage, so upgrading their armor is just as important. As for Elementalist-Ranger, that seems as good a combination as any. Warriors are the dreadnaughts, the heavily plated and well-armor engines of destruction, on the battlefield. In fact, I have a character of that class that does very well. Their main strength and chief weakness is their lack of range. I actually changed his secondary from Mesmer. An enemy can relegate them to the sidelines by managing to keep away from that close range a Warrior is so deadly at. Fortunately, a Warrior has several ways of getting to and staying at melee range so they can be effective. Speed buffs, skills that make a character move faster, let them cover the distance and close with enemies faster. , you can change your secondary class later on in the game. Defensive buffs and high armor let them survive the trip. If you are in the prophecies campaign you can change your secondary profession by taking quests during your travels through the Crystal Desert. And snares, skills that slow or prevent enemy movement, let them keep close. There are similar opportunities to change secondary class in both Factions and Nightfall. Playing a Warrior might seem simple at first, their reliance on gear means that, while other characters need to hunt down skills and learn to use them, Warriors can be well used with simple plans and simple skills just be virtue of having a decent weapon and decent armor. As an Elementalist-Ranger I found that at lower levels I would equip my skill bar with almost all Elementalist skills, maybe Troll Unguent from the Ranger skills for a healing boost. But just being able to swing a sword or an axe doesn’t make for a great Warrior or even begin to cover the possibilities offered by this, the most durable of all professions. Later on I found that by having a pet to help 'tank' for me, it actually made some of the elementalist area-of-effect spells work better as often enemies would accumulate around the pet. Learning to play a Warrior is easy. Then boom, meteor on them! Ha Ha, death from above, you know! There is plenty of flexibility in your Elementalist to try all sorts of different things. Mastering one is not. Each of the elements gives you different advantages in different situations. But those that rely on the hardness of their steel and are drawn to learn the harsh lessons of the battlefield do not turn tail at first sign of difficulties. Sometimes using a Water-Ele build is more effective than a Fire, Earth or Air build, and sometimes a combination works best. If you wish to play a Warrior, if you have the strength of character and nerves to withstand the fires of combat, then take up arms and read on to discover more. buy wow gold My Ele is currently using an Earth-Fire build that uses 'Earthquake', 'Mark of Rodgort', and 'Meteor' in combination to inflict mass damage and knock-downs on enemy groups with very good effect. Armor At creation a Warrior has armor rated at 15AL +10AL versus physical damage. And sometimes I use an Air Ele build which gives good 'spike' damage against single foes and also has lots of blinding. As they advance they’ll eventually have armor around a rating of 80AL +20AL versus physical damage. (Blinding an opponent makes them miss about 90% of the time). Warriors also have helmets that raise one of any of their attributes available. mp3 players So lots of different ways to make your Elementalist work effectively. Warrior armor is much better at protecting the Warrior than most other armors. Don't give up on him! It's OK to use your other character slots and try different things, though. It’s armor level is higher than every other profession’s except for Rangers who have equivalent armor. To be defensive, you’ll need to take care of yourself, before you worry about other things. But Warrior armor is better for the melee situations a Warrior is looking to find because it offers protection against physical damage rather than the elemental damage a Ranger offers. world of warcraft gold You’ll want a way to heal yourself, to nulify damage by recovering it, or a way to buff defensively, to negate damage by reducing the amount you take. Physical damage is the type of damage done by weapons and weapons are what tend to get used in close combat. What you’re trying to do here is to survive. Their high average armor level also offers them decent protection against all other sources of damage, too. You want to be able to take whatever the enemy can throw at you and be able to walk away from it. Unfortunately, in return for that level of protection Warrior armor lacks the bonus energy and regeneration that all other professions have. wow gold Defensive Warriors make exemplary tanks, characters who absorb damage for the rest of their party, because they have the armor and the skills that make them incredibly hearty and long-lasting characters. A primary Warrior, then, has the lowest energy pool of anyone because they remain at the base 20 energy and 2 arrows of regeneration. A properly built defensive Warrior isn’t going to be dying quickly and that’s basically being a tank. They can use foci and staves to increase their energy but it’s really the regeneration that hampers them because once spent their energy returns more slowly than anyone else. You want to have the enemy, whether it’s monsters or other players beating on you rather than your more vulnerable casters. This makes them poor spellcasters as they cannot use the highly costly spells of other professions very often. wow gold Killing that enemy is a secondary concern as long as you can keep alive the protecting casters who are healing you and the offensive casters who’ll do a better job of killing things, anyway. However, Warriors, at the same time that they are the profession with the least energy, are the profession with the least concern for using energy. Due to the lack of things like aggro and taunts – staples of a Warrior’s job in other games – it takes a bit more work. Many Warrior skills use a type of recharging found nowhere else but on the Warrior skill list, adrenaline. To tank properly you’ll need to rely on the fact that there’s collision detection in Guild Wars. Adrenal skills recharge based on a number of hits either received or dealt in combat and once that amount of adrenaline has been built up cost no energy to activate. wow gold kaufen In a mission two characters cannot pass through one another. By using adrenal skills a Warrior sidesteps their lack of energy and can afford to use energy skills they wouldn’t be able to otherwise. A Warrior can prevent someone from beating on their healer by the simple expedient of standing in their way.

PvE Monk Builds

Posté 3:17 AM le 10/11/2008
I've been playing around with my poor little match girl, my long neglected Monk, who's been relegated to mule status for most of her existence. Freed by the increase in storage, I embarked on a whirlwind level spree and a brief tour of the Northern Shiverpeaks with her. Lately, I've been trying to fill out her skill bar which is really lacking at the moment by marching her through the various campaigns. And I thought I'd share a few of the builds I've been using to do so. Mo/E SoR Prot OwYS8YIPb6CSAZmITQGAk7K Protection Prayers 12+2 Divine Favor 12+1 Dismiss Condition Shield of Regeneration {E} Aegis Reversal of Fortune Resurrection / Signet of Capture Glyph of Lesser Energy Blessed Aura Shield of Absorption / Protective Spirit Basically lifted this one from obs mode. Modified slightly for PvE play - mostly by taking out Remove Hex in favor of a rez (Yes, I use Resurrection. Yes, it's the only rez I have with my Monk. Yes, I need to get better. ). Pretty basic. GLE is there to power out the SoR and Aegis while RoF and the prot of choice are there to deal with everything else. Blessed Aura maximizes the effectiveness of SoR and others but it can lead to some energy crunches. This build sees heavy rotation on my Monk Heroes when I think I need an upgrade to the backline over Lina or whatever short bus all-star has signed up to hench for me. Not because they're particularly good with it but because this would be the pre-protter Protection based Monk that gets paired with the infuser Healing based Monk that I normally play. And the AI runs a protter better than it does power healing. the AI might apply SoR for a boo-boo but at least that way it won't stop pumping out the LoD to self-heal a scratch while the entire team is degened to death. Have better gear and skills on my Monk for a healer anyway. But, I've used this one a bit and it's pretty awesome. Shield of Regen has long been one of those skills I've liked, I remember when it was godly back in the test, and the casting time reduction has made it playable again. Whenever I need some protting, this is the build I turn to these days. I flip back and forth between Shield of Abs and Prot Spirit depending on the area and what the other Monk has. PS is more expensive but in some places it's just too critical to do without. Mo/Me Fast LoD Healer OwAT043A553tRub1VZymuS3SAA Healing Prayers 12+2 Protection Prayers 8+1 Divine Favor 10+1 Etherial Light Dwayna's Kiss Signet of Rejuvenation Light of Deliverance {E} Resurrection / Signet of Capture Dismiss Condition Holy Haste / Protective Spirit Remove Hex This has been the build I've tooled around with most. I mostly pieced it together because LoD was my only halfway decent elite at the time, but it's proven consistent and reliable. buy wow gold It's for spamming out the high-powered heals and keeping those red bars up. Works great when paired alongside the above SoR Prot Monk. Those enchantments fuel the go-to heal, Dwaynas, and while the protter concentrates on blunting the flow of damage, I can concentrate on acting as the safety net when the prot fails. mp3 players It's got removal covered with the excellent Dismiss for conditions and Remove for hexes (I'm as surprised as anyone that they actually made it playable. I never thought I'd actually slot that on a Monk's bar. too slow, too lengthy a recharge and I never expected to see them get sensible with it. world of warcraft gold Hexes must be really, really bad. ) LoD is, of course, super-sexy. Fast, cheap, and can single-handedly save your party. wow gold Holy Haste is optional. It's my favorite new toy since I'm addicted to Healer's Boon but it really helps those last minute spike heals land before someone pops. It keeps me from using enchantments, though, so sometimes I slot PS insead if I think I need the extra help. wow gold I've been fiddling with that third slot, at the moment it's JuvieSig but although that's a nice little heal, I'm not completely sold. Idealy, I'd want it to be PS but that can't happen, so I rotate through a bunch of things. Yes, that does leave me with only Etherial Light for a self heal at times. wow gold kaufen That's because I actually do a little something known as ""kiting"". Actually, it's more like I do a little something known as ""stand just out of aggro range while the AI soaks up the punishment"" but that doesn't sound as nice.

There is PvE in this game

Posté 3:12 AM le 10/11/2008
From reports here at Stratics and most fansites you could easily be under the mistaken impression that Guild Wars is almost entirely Player vs. Player (PvP). Even the name would suggest that it's a PvP only game, but a lot of people enjoy Player vs. Environment (PvE) gaming and ArenaNet has kept this in mind throughout development. In this article I will attempt to shed some light on the often over-looked PvE elements of Guild Wars. In the spirit of full disclosure I think I should preface this by saying: I hate PvE. It doesn't matter what game or what genre, fighting computer controlled opponents just does not amuse me at all. Guild Wars brings a lot of real innovation to this field though and ArenaNet deserves real credit for it. Look at the minor differences between all the UO or EQ clones and you'll see a common theme of “Camp, wait for spawn, Kill, Camp, wait for spawn, Kill”. This is affectionately referred to as “grind” by the alleged players. Guild Wars takes this standard game-play for all MMORPGs and throws it cleanly out the window. Quotations can be used to convey irony. There is no camping spawns in Guild Wars. There is no killing or loot stealing in Guild Wars. There is no lining up to wait for your turn to kill the boss for “teh phat lewt”. There is no tedious grinding away in the same spot all day long in Guild Wars . All of the missions in Guild Wars are individual and unique instances. This means that when your party (or you alone; squads are a helpful in most GW missions but not required) leaves the outpost or city region and enter a mission you step out of the massively multiplayer part of the game and into a personalized part of the game. Only your party is seeing the specific monsters and bosses. It's an amazingly smooth transition, one minute you're in a town with hundreds of people trading and talking; the next minute you could be in a far away mountain pass with just your good friends ready for a personal adventure that cannot be ruined by anyone. It's pretty safe to say that everyone making MMORPGs is trying to recapture the feeling of sitting with friends playing AD&D around a table with paper and dice. Guild Wars is honestly the closest any game has come to achieving this thanks to the instancing of missions. I know it sounds like I'm blowing a tremendous amount of smoke up your ass on this one, but there's been a lot of speculation about instancing ruining the Massively-Multiplayer aspect of the game. The only Massively-Multiplayer part of the game that is missing is some random guy running by and giving you grief. cheap wow gold Which one of you is Frodo. One of the key elements of paper and dice role-playing is the feeling that it's just you and your buddies fighting to save the world against the evil of the day. In MMORPGs this is often lost as you progress along a mission and see 50 other fellowships carrying the same ring. mp3 players Suddenly you're no longer Ordo the Mighty off to slay Balthazar, Ruiner of worlds… You're Ordo the Ordinary waiting your turn to kill the stupid AI that spawns every 15 minutes. With instancing it's really just you and your buddies. You're totally drawn into the moment and the fiction. world of warcraft gold There is no out of character randomness or long lulls in the action as you wait for something to spawn. There is no waiting for anything to spawn! ArenaNet has really taken advantage of its opportunity here and has created truly epic missions that go far beyond the tedious Delivery Boy missions you'll find in most MMORPGs today. Not once has ArenaNet had the nerve to tell me to play FedEx Man and call it a quest. wow gold I think they clearly understand what fun is and try to provide as engrossing and interesting missions as possible. One calls upon you and your friends to be the saviors of a village being ravaged by an undead army. You're even thanked individually by each citizen you manage to save. wow gold These little details are spread throughout all of the missions with lots of NPCs trying to keep you involved in the fiction to keep you in character with the pace of things. Every PvE mission has two objectives. There is a primary that you're told about as soon as you enter (typically from a NPC urgently asking your party to assist). wow gold kaufen A secondary objective is also available to be discovered if you explore the map. And I do mean explore! Every single map is huge which gives you a real open-ended and exploratory feeling.
